One Plant Expands to Serve Vaughan and Thornhill

Jason Krulicki is the owner of One Plant Kensington and has seen his operation become a social network in the Toronto neighbourhood of Kensington Market. By offering outdoor events on Wednesday nights and becoming a board member of his local BIA, Krulicki has managed to make One Plant central to an important, iconic Canadian cannabis hub.
“I give my staff all the credit. Even with the density from other cannabis retailers, we haven’t felt any drop off,” says Krulicki, who became interested in cannabis while working as a sales representative for the National Post in an effort that evolved into the GrowthOp. “We take a lot of pride in our welcoming experience and engagement with the neighbourhood. There’s not too many places like our own.”
Another place like the Kensington shop recently opened in Toronto in the North York neighbourhood, which is located at 2181 Steeles Avenue off Dufferin in the northeast quadrant of Canada’s largest city. Notable for being in a “weed desert,” both neighbouring Vaughan and Richmond Hill amazingly have still outlawed cannabis, Krulicki thinks the location of his 2,600-square-foot location will be a big selling point to locals in need of cannabis, from vapes and edibles to dried flower and drinks.
“I think the ability to serve these huge populations is an incredible opportunity, as we know Canadians are in need of education and quality adult products when it comes to legal cannabis,” says Krulicki, adding that the same teamwork and budtender excellence from his Kensington store will be applied to the new location. “So far the response, even given the lockdown, has defied expectations and we can’t wait to open the location, post-COVID-19, for real.”
